A productivity app has two jobs that pull against each other. Capturing a task has to be fast, and the list people return to has to stay short. Home should answer what is next, with a handful of items, and a single add button where the thumb lands. Everything else can fall into an inbox the user clears later.

The useful set is today, a list or project, an item in detail, and a calendar when time is the point. An item holds a title, a due date, and one note. Extra fields can wait until someone asks for them. A calendar fails when every hour is the same gray block. Give the current day a visible edge, and let a timed item show how long it runs.
Habits, tasks, notes, hiring, and calendars share this category and should split once you edit. A check for today, a blank note, and a meeting are different primary objects. Delete the modules that belong to the other products. A to-do home that also shows a habit grid and a sales pipeline is three apps on one screen.
The add flow is where these products feel slow. One field for the title, a save that returns to the list, and the new item visible at the top. Date and project can sit under the title on that same screen. Avoid a five-step wizard for capturing a single task.
